About The Event

This Samhain we Return to Pendle to recreate the magic of our Original Pendle Retreat first held in Samhain 2018.

Join us this Samhain, Saturday 26th October to Sunday 27th October as  we honour the 12 ACCUSED Lancashire Witches better known as the Witches  of Pendle Forest who suffered INJUSTICE for being victims of the times  in 1612.

10 were hanged (8 Women & 2 Men), 1 Sister died before the hearing, and 1 Sister survived to tell the tale.

To  this day Pendle has never recovered from this injustice with the spirit  of the accused witches still lingering in the mists from Pendle Hill to  the Malkin Tower. We will try to rectify this Injustice, by hearing the  words of the accused witches in Ceremony helping to bring Peace/Light  back to Pendle.

During  our 2 day retreat, we shall journey and embody our beloved Sisters and  Brothers, following their story of injustice. We shall honour their  names in ceremony, chant song and craft to the heart of their being.  Allowing the voices of those who died to be heard again as we sit in  circle.

Our  retreat is one of justice, empowerment, awareness, confidence and  belonging as we honour our strengths and beliefs. You will learn to heal  your own injustices, allowing your emotions of fear, rejection and  sorrow to come to the surface. This retreat is not for the  faint-hearted. We will stir the cauldron and journey with the Dark  Goddess to bring the light back into our lives. Emotions will be  awakened, healed and rejuvenated.

Please  arrive on Saturday at 10 am for a 10:30 am start, and we finish on  Sunday at 5 pm. On Saturday we will have lunch around 1 pm and then  break for evening dinner around 5 pm you may use the Halls Kitchen  facilities or join us at the local pub for delicious home-cooked food.  We shall regather at 7:30 pm for our evening ceremony, ending our  evening with a witches brew and some sacred chants or should I say  cackles.

On  Sunday we shall wake for breakfast and carry on our journey with the  witches, after lunch, we will take our retreat outdoors and explore the  sacred hills, historic buildings and get a sense of how our accused  witches lived as we look at their landscape. Finishing at around 5 pm.

Overnight  accommodation is provided free of charge at the (Barley) village hall,  you will need to bring bedding with you (Air bed/Mattress, Pillows,  Quilt, Sleeping Bag etc, we will have some spare items for you to use.),  the Hall will be thoroughly heated so don't worry about getting cold,  it would be wonderful if we all stayed together but hotels and inns are a  short walk away in Barley Village.

For  lunch on both Saturday and Sunday, we ask if you could bring some food  for our shared feast and please let us know of any dietary requirements  in advance. Saturday's main dinner will be at the local pub (dinner not  included in price) alternatively there are some shops nearby, and you  may use the kitchen facilities in the hall.

Barley Village Hall is fully accessible with lift access, if you have any disabilities or mobility issues, please contact us as  we are here to help. Unfortunately, due to the nature of the land,  Sundays walk is not accessible.
